How to Disable Live Photos on Your iPhone?

Live Photos are a neat feature that allows you to see any photo as a brief video by holding your finger on any photo. But, it does take up 3-5MB additionally per photo causing a problem for those who have smaller capacity iPhones. It's simple to disable. One reason we prefer to do this is that we copy and paste photos from our iPhone to PC and these movies get in the way. They are disorganized and make a copy and paste nearly impossible.

Lets Dig in

  1. Launch the stock Camera app on your iPhone .

  2. At the top you should see a symbol that looks more or less like a dart board. That's the Live Photos toggle switch.

3. Simply tap on it to turn it on or off. When the button is yellow, it notes that the feature is ON. When white, it notes the feature is OFF.

4. Leave the Camera app and head back to your home screen. (For now, do not open the Camera app again.)

5. Open the Settings app. Scroll down to Camera. Press it. In the menu that pops up, press Preserve Settings.

6. You’ll see three options. Toggle Live Photo so it switches to green.
